The Ali's Borromeus Duck

Duck dishes are getting popular day by day here in Bandung. One of the best duck served in Parijs van Java can be found in this particular place. It is located at 8th Hasanuddin Street or near the junction across the southern gate of St. Borromeus Hospital. Even though it is a street vendor with tents to mark the place, this culinary spot is always full of visitors. Thanks to the delicious duck that has drawn its fans all over Bandung, and even out-of-town travelers.

The Borromeus Duck (or people often called it Ali’s Duck, based on the name of the owner) is cooked in a way that brought out the magnificent smell of its spices and the savory aura perfectly. Besides the meat, the place is also well-known for its sambal pecel (the traditional dressing for duck made of chilli, tomato, onions and "terasi"). The sambal pecel is so wicked, with the flavor that is not too spicy, but successfully added another sensation to the dishes.

The vendor is open since 5 PM. But we suggest you to come by before 7 PM, if you don't wanna miss the ducks, since they are such a huge hit of Ali's place. Beside ducks, you may order chickens, catfishes, tempeh or tofus here at Ali's. Prepare about Rp. 20.000 to Rp. 30.000 if you are going to enjoy a set of menu (food and beverages) here at Ali's Borromeus Duck.
