Bandung Air Show 2010 : Amazing Aero on the Run

This hot sunny day won’t cut out our desire to see this great event of “Bandung Air Show Lautan Kreatif Expo 2010”, which is located at Lanud Husein Sastranegara. This event which was just held from 23th of September 2010 and it’s gonna end in 26th of September 2010, is an agenda which is rarely happen in Indonesia, and more interesting fact to know is that the program was held to celebrate the 200th year of our beloved city, Bandung.

There are about 137 airplanes that being displayed in the static show, starting from civil plane, TNI (Indonesian Army Force)’s plane such as Hercules, Fokker, M17, to Nomad (a small plane for practice purposes), with microlight and aeromodelling also featured on the show. Besides this static show, actually there’ll be a stunt act, performed by skilled and brave people, but in the fact, after the Cessna’s plane incident at approximately 10 AM today (9/24) in this area, those activities are being put aside for a while.

Even so, we’ve seen this plane exhibition is stilll going steady, and we’ve seen hundreds even thousands of visitors who want to see those hundred planes,which is hard to find in any other chance. Lots of people, locals and out-of-townies are both so hyped up to watch Bandung Air Show. With a very cheap entry ticket (only Rp. 7.500 per person), we could have seen how amazing our country’s aerospace world, displayed directly in front of us. Most of the planes are Dirgantara Indonesia (a national aero-manufacturer in Indonesia)’s masterpieces. With a wide range of planes exhibited in a very large area, getting bored is not even on our playlist.

Besides the airplane’s exhibition, there are other booths that attracted us as the main program of this event. TNI’s booth – will show us so many things about Indonesian Air Force; Bandung city official’s booth – bring in many leading local products; Bandung local bussiness’s booth, or even the masterpiece of Nurtanio University’s scholars. Culinary stands are also available in the expo area, so we don’t have to take our time, searching for delicacies outside the expo area when you feels like grabbing some bites. Simply take the culinary vouchers and voila! No more grouchy tummy for the rest of our trip.

So, watch the amazing iron birds of Indonesia and spend your wonderful weekend, or maybe celebrate Bandung’s birthday, here at Bandung Air Show 2010! Up, up and away! (CS)
