Farah Quinn : The Culinary Aphrodite

“This is it!” Guess who said this catchy quote? Yes, this beautiful woman’s name is quite familiar nowadays. Farah Quinn, a breakthrough female chef , the bomb of Indonesian culinary and a shining star in the entertainment world. Unique accent and interesting concept of cooking – plus  an Indonesian exotic babe appereance  - successfully made her the next big thing. It even brought up a new genre, “sexy cooking”, referring to her looks and the way she cook with a very simple urban style.

Last Friday (01/10), Farah Quinn visited ITB as the guest star at Bon8ppetit event of 8EH ITB’s Radio. Farah – with the real name Farah Farhannah Quinn – perform her skills on a cooking demo plus became the judge for the cooking contest, things that she really good at. And of course BRDC didn’t miss this perfect chance and tried to have a chit-chat with Farah. Here are some scoops of it.

Q : You are such an idol in Indonesian cooking world. How did all of these started?
A : I started it all from nothing and of course with a hard effort, we can get anything we want. When I studied at US, I took a part time job at the restaurants and hotels, so that those precious experiences became an important keep for myself. Finally, I could open my own temporary food restaurant there. When I went back to Indonesia, my hard work was made a nice result. One of the most famous TV station in Indonesia saw my portopholio, and they were attracted to recruit me as a cooking programme host. And, then magic happens.

Q : What do you love about Indonesian culinary?
A : Indonesian food is actually awesome, too bad that our culinary is less-exposed to the abroad, whereas our homeland’s food are qualify to compete with other’s nations food. Indonesia is blessed with exotic spices from all over the archipelago. It makes Indonesian food supposedly can be a huge hit, considering its variety and their great potentials.

Q : How about Bandung’s food? Have you tried it then?
A : I’m really love and impressed with Bandung’s food and culinary today. So many kind of them and full of new innovation. It’s so different than the old Bandung that I used to know. In every corner, you’ll find culinary spot’s choices, all over town.

Q : Any words for your fans and Bandung Review clickers ?
A : You culinary lovers, don’t  be afraid to create something new. Make this culinary world become more interesting, and be proud of our Indonesian’s food.
