If you are a big fan of durian, you should check out these places in Bandung who served various kinds of durian snacks. On Ramadhan month like this, these spots may also be a destination for your Iftar hunting.
1. Iced Durian
The cold dessert actually resembles the “es campur”. Here, we combined fresh durian with shaved ice and other add-ons, like fresh fruits, sweet condensed milk, fruit sauce, and many others. You can find the famous Iced Durian in Tubagus Ismail Street, near Simpang Dago Market or a “durian cafe” located in Lengkong Besar Street.
2. Surabi Durian
This Sundanese version of pancake has been one of famous snacks of Bandung for ages. Here it is another unique creation of it, which uses durian sauce or durian vla as its topping. Durian brings out a new whole sensation as it came out with unique flavor and smell. You can find surabi durian sellers in Sulanjana Street (they sell it every afternoon in front of a famous radio station) and Burangrang Street (near Martabak San Fransisco)
3. Grilled Durian
Stop by to a stall located in Soreang-Cilampeni Street, Southern Bandung and meet the latest creation of durian. It is grilled with charcoal for several hours until it softens up, then served with black sticky rice, roasted coconut, and a sweet condensed milk, voila! A plate of grilled durian is coming at you!
4. Bajigur Durian
Bajigur is a Sundanese hot drink, made from coffee and spiced coconut milk. In Kopo-Soreang streets, some street stalls are mixing bajigur with durian, simply call it Bajigur Durian. Some say it has a certain benefit, to wash away your tired feelings and fatigue. The flavor is so sweet and the warmth made it such a perfect mate in rainy days.
