Hunting Spot for Photographer

For fellow photographers, Bandung is the perfect hunting ground, some with their heritage values and some with their natural beauty. These places surely will capture the colorful splendor through your lens. In this article, I would like to take you to those places.

Bandung is full with old heritage building on every corner. Even some streets have their old colonial feel. The famous street often visited by photographers, is Braga. On this street most of the shops are as they were in the early 1920s. The pavement block, the art deco street lights, will surely fascinate you. Nearby, there is also Bandung’s heritage possession, Asian-African Conference building. Located in the corner of Jl. Asia Afrika and Jl. Braga, this building’s facade shows its era through time. A spot shame to miss for photographer.

For nature, you can go to Maribaya, 30 mins to the north of Bandung, where you will be impressed by the beautiful mountain-view scenery on the way. The lush pine trees accentuate the green of nature. I prefer to come here early in the morning where the sun shines through high tall pine trees to the damp ground of the forest, or when the sun set, where the dark golden sun ray clash with the green tone of the trees. Beautiful, truly beautiful.

Kawah Putih of Southern Bandung is also known as one of the favorite places for the photographers. The white grounds, teal colored water and leafless branch trees give a unique palette to your picture. Photographers often come here very early in the morning when the sun is enough to bring out the color of the surrounding but not too bright, losing the warm feel of the panorama. Most photographers come here for pre-wedding shots. Pictures taken here somehow give the ambiance of a winter time due to the white environment.
